I’m A Little Short for my Weight

Reviewing the government charts, I should be approximately 9 feet tall.  I’ve also noticed that I should still be growing, at least based on my ever increasing circumference.

Alas, my basketball career was short lived…and that is being generous.

However, when I moved here to Indiana almost 20 years ago, I had to become a fan, basketball is a little “crazy” in this state.

So, I’m reading the sports page the other day and I saw a little article titled “James talks free agency.  As LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers said in the article:

I think you do what is best for you and you do what is best for your career” James said when asked about this sense of loyalty to the Cavaliers before they played in New Jersey.  “I go out and I play hard, and that’s loyaltyJames added.”

I GO OUT AND I PLAY HARD, AND THAT’S LOYALTY.

I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Remember, every employee is the CEO of one company, and the one company is themselves…  If employees are given an opportunity to lease their skills to another company at a higher rate, why shouldn’t they take it?  If an employee has better training and development opportunities or more opportunities for advancement at Company B, why would they stay where they are?  Or, why would LeBron stay “if another franchise offers the superstar a better change to win multiple NBA titles”.

It’s nice to see that even superstars making $20,000,000 a year still “act like regular employees”.
