Selection Day!
I just got done making my selection.
75 minutes in line, chatting with my neighbors, checking out the inside of the fire station where our polling place is.
Five minutes, six screens, 20 or so “decisions” to make on local, state and national levels.
I never voted before. Ever.
And me, a political science major with an emphasis on American Political History.
Apathetic for 28 years. 7 national cycles
But this year was different. I was involved in the interviewing process. I saw the final candidates react to real-world situations. I witnessed their decision making process, or lack of it. I watched them in front of skilled journalists and snarky comedians.
I made “in-person” visits when they visited my town. I read their website content. I read their mailings.
I gave money to the candidates.
I got involved.
I voted.
Now it’s your turn. What’s your reason for NOT VOTING??
