All the trimmings…
I’m thankful I have a family I can care for, and cares for me.
I’m thankful that I have an opportunity to do what I love to do for a living.
I’m thankful for the people that have given me the opportunity to do what I love to do for a living. There are a lot of them, and most of them know who they are. A few will never know, and that’s OK.
I’m thankful for my lovely bride and I celebrating the 25th anniversary of our first date today. 25 years ago I took her to the auto show. I know, nothing says romance more than looking at station wagons and hot rods. And it was 1982.
OMG. It was 1982. Reagan was president. Porky’s was a number one movie. The Commodore 64 game system went on the market. The first episode of Cheers aired. Michael Jackson’s Thriller sold 20 million albums. Things were different back then! Anyway…
I’m thankful for my kids. Most of the time. OK, almost all the time (my wife is watching me write this over my shoulder). Fine, all the time.
I’m thankful that my younger son doesn’t hurt me too much when we wrestle. And I’m thankful that he is still ticklish, and hates the dreaded horsebite, giving me an unfair advantage in our continuing battles.
I’m thankful that in three more easy payments, my older son’s college will be paid off.
I’m thankful for my dad doing better this Thanksgiving than the last one. Truly Thankful. Not enough words to describe it.
And, I’m thankful for the ability to write this today, up here in the mountains of Snowmass Village, a light snow having fallen here last nite, and today not a cloud in the sky and the sun shining bright.
I hope you are thankful this holiday season as well.
